Tapoja Roy is a freshman majoring in International Political Economy at UT Dallas from Fulshear, Texas. When she is not busy with her duties of being the at The Mercury, she loves to enjoy a good book, collect physical media (vinyls, CDs, magazines, newspapers, DVDs), acrylic paint, fence, and binge watch early 2000s american rom-coms. Tia has been affiliated with various journalistic passion projects of her own such as starting her political column & commentary page: The Teapot Times, start her own current affairs podcast “Spilling The Tea with Tia Roy”, and filming her own advocacy documentaries specifically on human rights issues. Tia is looking forward to contributing more editorials & pieces on The Mercury newspaper that are related to UTD’s presence in politics, current affairs, and civil engagement.
