Information Resources said an Aug. 8 processing error may have exposed students’ directory information, class schedules and charges for the upcoming semester. The issue was corrected Aug. 10.
Vice President Jim Gary said a programmer working on converting UTD’s student information system gave student accounts access privileges that should have been restricted to certain employees.
Gary said payment records, histories and financial information such as credit card numbers were not made visible, and most data in question was legal to disclose to the public as directory information.
