Campus to resume normal operations Friday
Campus operations, classes and activities will return to normal on Friday, Jan. 30, according to university officials. The Natural Science and Engineering Research Lab (RL), Bioengineering and Sciences Building (BSB) and the Student Services Addition (SSA) remain exceptions.
Faculty, staff and students with labs or offices in RL, BSB and SSA should monitor their email for updates regarding those facilities. Campus officials urge the UT Dallas community to travel through and around campus with caution.
In-person classes suspended Thursday as winter storm impacts campus facilities
Although road conditions have improved across North Texas, the severity of this week’s winter storm has caused ongoing heating and plumbing issues in several UT Dallas buildings.
In-person classes and on-campus activities will remain suspended Thursday, Jan. 29, to allow facilities crews time to complete repairs. Students and faculty in face-to-face courses are expected to continue academic progress through eLearning and other online instruction methods. Faculty will communicate specific plans directly to students.
Buildings currently affected include the Natural Science and Engineering Research Laboratory (NSERL), Bioengineering and Sciences Building (BSB), Student Services Building Addition (SSA), Eugene McDermott Library (MC) and the Edith O’Donnell Arts & Technology Building (ATC). The Student Union and Comets LANding will be closed due to heating issues.
Essential campus services, including UT Dallas Police, Dining Services, Facilities Management and University Housing, will remain operational. The Activity Center and Rec Center West will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
