Have a hammock? Well, UTD has hammock stands you can hang your hammock up on and nap in this summer. Associate Director of University Recreation, Chris Alpine, says there are four main areas on campus that have hammock stands: near the Gazebo, the Admin building, the Disc Golf Course, and the bee farm. Off, but near campus, there are hammock stands in Northside and scattered here and therethrough University Village. The ones on campus, have been there since 2017, where they were implemented in conjunction with UREC and Student Government. “If [you] don’t have your own ham-mock, you can still use the hammock stands,” Alpine said. “Rec Center West rents out hammocks for three dollars a day. Take it with you on a camping trip or snooze on campus a bit.”
