Power Dancers to hold tryouts Sept. 14
The UTD Power Dancers have announced the dates for their audition of new members for the upcoming year.
The first audition information session will be at 8:30 p.m., Sept. 14, on the second floor of the Student Union.
Auditions begin at 8 p.m., Sept. 15, in the auxiliary gym and extend through Sept. 17.
The application fee is $25.
Fourth-year Power Dancer Sijy Mathew encourages those with dancing experience to come to the tryout.
“Being a Power Dancer is a lot of fun because we bring school spirit to the university. We’re looking forward to the new year and the new additions to our team,” Mathew said.

Soul Steppers gear up for new year
Started last year as a venture among five close friends, the Soul Steppers are back and ready for action.
The step team provides a complement to the entertainment and spirit provided by the cheerleaders and Power Dancers, founder and President Jessica Goffney said.
“As we expand, we hope to make a positive impact on campus by promoting school spirit and showing campus pride,” Goffney said in a Soul Steppers recruitment brochure.
The Steppers first performance will be Sept. 19 at UTD.
