The Mr. UTD contest came to an exciting end March 20 at the Conference Center. After a show of much dance and song, Mariusz Galczynski won the crown. The runners up were Eric Brunner and Chris Whalen.
The Alpha Gamma Delta sorority has been hosting this male beauty pageant for the past eight years. The contestants all represent their individual organizations, both Greek and non-Greek.
Galczynski represented the Free State Awareness Project, while Brunner and Wahlen are part of the Chemistry Student Association and the Chi Phi Fraternity, respectively.
This year’s contest included competitions in a pajama round, a talent round and a formal interview, interspersed with choreographed dances by the hosts themselves.
The show was a laugh-a-minute with the pajama round attire ranging from superman costumes to metallic blue boxers, while the talent round had the guys gyrating to popular songs, pseudo-rapping, fake singing and making milkshakes.
The judges were a host of women, unaffiliated with any of the organizations the contestants were representing. The proceeds of the event go to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.
