After four seasons with the softball team, head coach Brad Posner will not be returning to UTD next season. His last day was June 1.

Athletic director Bill Pettit said he and Posner both had a mutual understanding at the end of the season that it was time to move on, but he would not comment on Posner’s reason for leaving.

Posner could not be reached for comment.

As the fourth coach in the program’s history, Posner was 86-70 overall. The team qualified for the ASC tournament twice during his tenure, but failed to make it to the postseason this past year after going 16-19.

Assistant Softball Coach Jeny Fuller, who was hired before the start of the season, is currently acting as the interim head coach. She said no one else on the staff is expected to leave.

Fuller said the players have been made awareß of Posner’s departure.

Mulitple players from the team either declined to comment or could not be reached for comment.

An official decision on who Posner’s replacement will be is expected later this month.
