“We want to expose people to music that they don’t usually hear,” said Keegan Knittle, Radio UTD station manager. “That’s the goal of the station and the goal of our concert.”

The concert will amp up at 7 p.m. in the Student Union mall with Those Peabodys, Spud, Quiet, Lovely and Stories from the Frontier.

Returning is Spud, a band with UTD ties, which played in Radio UTD’s spring concert.

“(Spud) developed the greatest energy of the show, so were glad to have them back,” said Jay Miller, student media adviser. “We like having the UTD connection when possible.”

While not a tradition yet, Knittle said he hopes to have concerts every semester.

“Getting people out, having a good time – that’s what it’s all about,” Knittle said.

Co-sponsored by Late Night Programming, semesterly concerts aren’t designated in Radio UTD’s budget, so to continue, partnerships will need to be made, Miller said.

“There’s not a lot of live music venues in the immediate area. So, whatever we can do to bring live music to the campus is a good thing,” Miller said.

Radio UTD expects around 300 people throughout the night and free food will be served.
