Rock Baby returns with Poetry Circus

The Underground Poetry Circus will return at 10 p.m. on March 4 in The Pub.

Ringmaster Rock Baby and poet Lamar Will will host a rollicking show with the talents of DJ Whiz and the band, Common Folk.

Acclaimed by the Dallas Observer, this production offers free admission, foods, soft drinks, and give-a-ways.

High school art to be shown on campus

Works of art submitted for the Texas Visual Arts Association high school art competition will be on display in the Visual Arts Building Feb. 21 – March 14.

Both traditional and experimental artists will be featured in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, photography and digital art.

Local bands duel for free promotion

The Buzz Oven Battle of the Bands at 5:30 p.m. on March 6 at Fort Worth’s Wreck Room offers local bands a chance for state-wide exposure.

Winners will receive free exposure including flyers, stickers, airplay, and advertising in major Texas publications.

One of the 10 bands competing is Dallas’ own “State of Whatever”, a dark and brooding duo composed of brothers Jonathan and James Pugh.
